This magazine base pad is a direct fit for the Mec-Gar 10-round magazine used in the Springfield SA-35 and the Browning Hi-Power (BHP). It is designed specifically to work with the Apex Low-Profile Magwell for those same pistols. If you run a magwell, you need this pad to seat the magazine fully and reliably. It replaces the factory base pad with no modification required — just pop it on and go.
Priced at $15, this is a simple, effective upgrade for shooters who load up on bulk magazines and want consistent performance at the range or in competition. The pad is flared at the base to prevent over-insertion into the magwell, which saves you from stuck magazines and wasted time clearing malfunctions. Scalloped cuts on the sides give you a positive grip for stripping the magazine out when it’s empty or when you need to reload fast.
You get two material choices, both made in the USA in Phoenix, AZ:
- Aluminum: Machined from solid billet aluminum, then anodized black. The Apex logo is laser engraved after anodizing, so it won’t wear off. This is the tougher option if you drop mags on concrete or run heavy drills.
- 3D Printed Polymer: Printed in-house from carbon fiber-filled filament. Available in black, red, blue, green, and purple. Lighter than aluminum, and the carbon fiber fill adds stiffness without the weight. Good for range use, competition, or just matching your gear color.
Important note: This base pad does not increase magazine capacity beyond the factory 10-round limit. It is strictly for improved fitment with the magwell and easier handling. If you need more rounds, you need a different magazine — not this pad.
Fitment specs:
- Compatible with Mec-Gar 10-round BHP magazines
- Designed for use with the Apex Low-Profile Magwell (SA-35 and BHP models)
- Drop-in replacement — no fitting, filing, or tools required
- Flared base prevents over-insertion into the magwell
- Scalloped cuts for positive grip during magazine removal
If you run a Springfield SA-35 or a BHP with an Apex magwell, this base pad solves the common problem of magazines seating too deep or being hard to yank out during a reload. It’s a no-nonsense part for shooters who buy in bulk and want gear that works out of the box. Pick your material and color, and get back to shooting.
